There are plenty of other door locks, and many fall within the seven categories of knob locks, deadbolt locks, cam locks, padlocks, mortise locks, smart locks and keypad locks.
An intent lock can be an intent shared (IS), intent exclusive (IX), or intent shared exclusive (SIX).
Three lock operations exist: READLOCK (to check the type of lock), WRITELOCK (to issue the lock), and UNLOCK (to release the lock). The schema has been enhanced to allow a lock upgrade (from shared to exclusive) and a lock downgrade (from exclusive to shared).
The lock() method is one of the most important methods of the Lock interface. It is used for acquiring the lock. For thread scheduling purposes, the current thread becomes disabled when the lock is not available. The lock() method is a public method that returns void.
Lock is a studly masculine name of Old German origins, meaning woods, fortified place, and pond. Lock is also tied to English and American roots, being an Americanized spelling of the German Loch and a nickname for one with curly hair.
Intention Mode Lock Intention-shared (IS): It contains explicit locking at a lower level of the tree but only with shared locks. Intention-Exclusive (IX): It contains explicit locking at a lower level with exclusive or shared locks.
It can be categorized into the following six types listed below: Exclusive Lock (X) Shared Lock (S) Update Lock (U) Intent Lock (I) Schema Lock (Sch) Bulk Update Lock (BU)
You can implicitly release the table locks. If the connection to the server terminates explicitly or implicitly all the locks will be released. You can release the locks of a table explicitly using the UNLOCK TABLES statement.
