Select Home Show/Hide . This will display non-printing charactersparagraph markers, section breaks, page breaks, etc. that you may want to see while youre working on your document. Double-click the page break so that its selected, and then press Delete.
Insert a manual page break Click or tap in the document where you want to insert a page break. Go to Layout Breaks Page.
On the Layout tab, under Page Setup, click Breaks, and then click Insert Page Break.
When youve added section breaks in your document, the easiest way to see where they begin and end is to first display all formatting marks. Go to Home Show all nonprinting characters.
On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Show/Hide to show all formatting marks including page breaks. Double-click the page break to select it, then press Delete. Click Show/Hide again to hide the remaining formatting marks in the document.
In order to delete section breaks, youll need to display paragraph marks or symbols.Remove a section break If necessary, click the Home tab and then click Show/Hide in the Paragraph group. Double-click the break to select it or drag over it. Press Backspace or Delete to delete the break.
If not, with the insertion marker at the beginning of the Section Break; If you have a standard keyboard press the Forward Delete [del] key. If you have an abbreviated keyboard use fn+delete, or. On either, press Shift+➡︎ then press delete.
You cant remove automatic page breaks, but you can prevent them from landing in awkward places, such as between lines of text youd like to keep together. If you select to view the non-printing characters in a document after you set page breaks in Word, you will see that a manual page break is identifiable by the words Page Break in the center of a dashed line within the document.
