Victor showed us how he can pull up a list of links on a page using voiceover, and even search through them. This feature is obviously most useful if, firstly, the screen reader can find the links. And secondly, if the actual text of the links is meaningful. For the first, there are three common patterns that we see which can cause the screen reader to miss links in the page. One is using a span, with some link styling, or an anchor tag without an href attribute. This is popular for single page applications when you have something which is effectively an internal link. Which does some javascript-based navigation within the app. Or also when you want something which performs an action, but looks like a link. For anything which behaves like a link, including within a single page application. You should absolutely use an anchor tag with an href attribute, no exceptions. Link text is, quite simply, the words on a webpage that are also a hyperlink to another page. Wise Geek. It sounds simple enough, right? A text link, is a hyperlink with only text that navigates you to a different area within a document or separate web page.
Select the text or picture that you want to display as a hyperlink. Press Ctrl+K. You can also right-click the text or picture and click Link on the shortcut menu.
Create a hyperlink to a file on your computer Select the text or picture that you want to display as a hyperlink. Press Ctrl+K. helps one to specify the target. This is followed by adding the text that is clickable in HTML. For example, in the above example, is the link that is attached to the text Testbook website page. Finally, to finish it, you can add the tag to indicate where the link ends.
Anchor text or link text is the visible, clickable text of a link. It usually appears in a different color than the surrounding text and is often underlined. Good link text tells the reader what to expect if they click on the link.
Copy a URL (address) on a desktop or laptop After the address is highlighted, press Ctrl + C or Command + C on the keyboard to copy it. Once the address is copied, paste that address into another program by clicking a blank field and pressing Ctrl + V or Command + V .
A text associated with a link target is described as a link text. This can be a word, a character or even several words up to (theoretically) several sentences. The clickable link text associated with a URL is then described as a hyperlink. Synonyms for link text also include anchor text or reference text.
The link text is the part that will be visible to the reader. Clicking on the link text, will send the reader to the specified URL address.
Add a hyperlink to existing text Select the text that you want to turn into a hyperlink, and right-click it. On the shortcut menu, click Hyperlink. In the Insert Hyperlink dialog, paste the link in the Address box and click OK.
The link text locator matches the text inside the anchor tag. The partial link text locator matches the text inside the anchor tag partially. NoSuchElementException shall be thrown for both these locators if there is no matching element.
