Remove a horizontal line Place the cursor immediately above the horizontal line. On the Home tab, click the arrow next to the Borders and Shading button, and click No Border.
The message Continues on next page is what you inserted as your Footnote Continuation Notice. This will be displayed at the end of the footnote if the footnote itself is too long to be displayed at the end of the same page and has to be continued on the next page.
Place your cursor at the point in the footnote where you want the note number to appear. Go to References, then click Cross-reference. Change the Reference type dropdown to Footnote and leave the Insert as hyperlink box checked.
Add footnotes and endnotes Click where you want to add the footnote. Click Insert Insert Footnote. Word inserts a reference mark in the text and adds the footnote mark at the bottom of the page. Type the footnote text.
PC and Mac In a document that contains endnotes, Choose ViewNormal. Choose View Footnotes. With the pointer, press the arrow to the right of the box that says All Endnotes. Several choices will appear. Highlight the line. Delete the line. Close the Endnote window and Save your work.
If your footnotes are mostly quite short, and especially if they are few, you may never see the Footnote Continuation Separator. It is used when a footnote is too long to fit on the page and must be continued on the following page.
Remove a footnote If you want to delete the footnote (thats at the bottom of the page), delete the number 1 in the body. When you do that, the footnote itself disappears. Another way you can do this is to right-click the footnote at the bottom of the page, select Go to Footnote and then delete the number there.
Remove or change a footnote or endnote separator The Footnotes pane appears at the bottom of your document. You can edit the color or style of the separator by choosing options on the Home tab, or, to delete the separators, click Footnote Separator in the Footnotes list, and then select and delete the separator line.
To create a hyperlink: Select the text or object that you want to use as a hyperlink. Click the Insert tab, then Hyperlink. Complete the details for your link destination and click OK. Edit or remove a hyperlink: Select Edit Hyperlink or Remove Hyperlink from the shortcut menu.
To keep the footnote together in Word: Press Ctrl+Shift+S to Apply Styles. Footnote Text. Click Modify. Click Format. Select Paragraph. Under Line and Page Breaks tab. Check box by Keep lines together. Click OK.
