Contact your DMV in writing and let them know theres an error on the title. Have the DMV issue you a duplicate title. If the previous owner is responsible for the title error, contact them and have them fill in the new vehicle title correctly. For errors that are your fault, make adjustments on your replacement title.
A Statement of Error or Erasure (REG 101) form is required for any erasure and/or lined out information on the California Certificate of Title. For example, if an individuals signature appears on the title in error and is lined out, a REG 101 must be completed by that individual explaining the error.
Any corrections due to the misspelling of information may be corrected by drawing a line through the incorrect information and inserting the correct information. A docHubd statement from the party that made the error must be submitted with the application for title and registration.
Corrections: Lightly line through the incorrect information leaving it where it can still be read. Enter the correct information legibly above the lined through information. Complete Form T-11 Affidavit of Correction explaining the reason for the correction.
Affidavit of Correction (T-11) A T-11 is used to explain allowable corrections in an assignment section on the back of the title or statement of origin. It must be completed by the seller, and the sellers signature must be docHubd.
Registering or Titling a Vehicle Update your address on your Georgia drivers license or ID card online through the Georgia Department of Driver Services. You can then change the address on your registration online using DRIVES e-Services or at your County Tag Office.
Acknowledge the error on the bill of sale and take the documents to the DMV and explain what happened. You may be asked to pay a nominal fee or fill out a form asking the DMV to correct the mistake or issue a new title.
Titles are mailed from the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) and generally received within 7-10 business days. If you need the title the same day, you can visit the DOR office in Atlanta. Everything on the vehicle record must be current in this case.
