In the worksheet, click the cell that contains the title or data label text that you want to change. Edit the existing contents, or type the new text or value, and then press ENTER. The changes you made automatically appear on the chart.
Change axis labels in a chart Right-click the category labels you want to change, and click Select Data. In the Horizontal (Category) Axis Labels box, click Edit. In the Axis label range box, enter the labels you want to use, separated by commas.
How to change the Y-axis values in Excel Select the axis. Use your cursor to navigate to and select the Y-axis being changed. Open the Select Data menu. Select Edit under Legend Entries (Series) Enter your data range in the Series Value box. Select the chart. Open Select Data Click Switch Row/Column Press OK
Right-click the axis then select Format Axis in the menu. The Format Axis panel appears on the right side of the window. Under Axis Options in the Format Axis panel, set the minimum and maximum axis values by entering a value in the Minimum and Maximum boxes under Bounds.
Insert a text box on a chart Click the chart to which you want to add a text box. In the chart, click where you want to start a corner of the text box, and then drag until the text box is the size that you want. In the text box, type the text that you want. The text will wrap in the text box.
Simply place your cursor in the formula bar where you want to add the break and press the ALT+ENTER keys. Hit ENTER again, and youll see the text wrap on two lines. You now have the text arranged the way you like it in the spreadsheet and in the graph.
In the chart, select the data series that you want to add a line to, and then click the Chart Design tab. For example, in a line chart, click one of the lines in the chart, and all the data marker of that data series become selected. Click Add Chart Element, and then click Gridlines.
In the Labels section, click on Axes. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on X-Axis or Y-Axis to label whichever axis you wish to label. A text box will appear in which you can type in the label for your axis. It is important to note that you can also format your labels using HTML tags.
Wrap text automatically On the Home tab, in the Alignment group, click Wrap Text. (On Excel for desktop, you can also select the cell, and then press Alt + H + W.) Notes: Data in the cell wraps to fit the column width, so if you change the column width, data wrapping adjusts automatically.
Adding upper and lower control limits in chart Right-click the first lower limit line and choose Format Data Series from the menu. Change the line color to red and set the width to 5 pts. Do the same for the upper limit line.
