hi guys welcome back to the meena does art stuff youtube channel my name is mina and on this channel we do art stuff so um a couple of videos back i created this um outdoor sort of plein air palette for nice weather thats coming and i was thinking ive got some really lovely watercolor sketchbooks and things like that but a lot of them have a lot of sort of like you know theres always that pressure to like not to mess things up and things like that and i just wanted a really low pressure easy to use like i dont have to worry about messing it up kind of sketchbook and in combination with all of that um my daughter is going to be on her school easter holidays um probably by the time you see this video shell be on her estop will be on her easter break and shes really into painting at the moment and i obviously want to encourage her creativity and having fun and stuff like that and so there again i have lots of sketchbooks and i could probably pick one out for her but these you know

Washi (和紙) is traditional Japanese paper. The term is used to describe paper that uses local fiber, processed by hand and made in the traditional manner. Washi is made using fibers from the inner bark of the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub (Edgeworthia chrysantha), or the paper mulberry (kōzo) bush.
A laid paper is a type of paper which has fine ridges on its surface, historically produced during manufacture. Originally, laid paper was made by hand in large vats. Wove paper has a uniform surface and no texture or watermark. The differences were a result of the manufacturing processes.
During the 1770s in colonial America, wove paper was primarily created and used as a printing paper for currency, books, and bound account ledgers.
