Most extended warranties dont cover whats are known as wear and tear parts. Wear and tear parts are parts of your car that are expected to wear out and be replaced at regular intervals. Your brake pads and rotors are considered wear and tear parts, and almost universally wont be covered by your extended warranty.
Specified major components are covered for the first 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first. Defects and performance for heavy duty truck emission control systems including those found in 6.6L Duramax Diesel Engines are covered for the first 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Generally, car warranties do not cover wear items like brake pads, rotors, shoes, and drums, however, a manufacturer may authorize a warranty repair if excessive wear is not detected upon inspection on a vehicle less than a year old.
Factory warranty coverage only applies to damage caused by normal use. Wear-and-tear parts like brake pads and routine maintenance services like oil changes arent covered by your factory warranty.
A factory warranty usually includes a new vehicle limited warranty, sometimes referred to as a bumper-to-bumper warranty. A factory warranty may also include a powertrain warranty, maintenance, corrosion and emissions coverage.
Your vehicle warranty does not cover parts made to wear out, like brake pads in normal use. Buying a car extended warranty is a strategic financial choice that may give peace of mind but might not pay for itself. A warranty is not insurance and does not cover accidents or abuse.
Simply use the words Limited Warranty. Dont include other information, such as the duration, because the reader might assume the limitation only applies to the duration and not to other aspects of the warranty. A multiple warranty (contains both full and limited warranties). Use the title Limited Warranty.
The 3-Year/36,000-Mile Basic Limited Warranty* provides bumper-to-bumper coverage for your vehicle, from the body to the electrical system. The warranty is also transferable, and it includes towing, if necessary.
