The first privately funded, liquid-fueled rocket (Falcon 1) to docHub orbit (28 September 2008) The first privately funded company to successfully launch (by Falcon 9), orbit and recover a spacecraft (Dragon) (9 December 2010)
SpaceX has developed three launch vehicles. The small-lift Falcon 1 was the first launch vehicle developed and was retired in 2009. The medium-lift Falcon 9 and the heavy-lift Falcon Heavy are both operational. The Falcon 1 was a small rocket capable of placing several hundred kilograms into low Earth orbit.
Falcon 9 first-stage boosters landed successfully in 174 of 185 attempts (94.1%), with 146 out of 151 (96.7%) for the Falcon 9 Block 5 version. A total of 150 re-flights of first stage boosters have all successfully launched their payloads.
It took four tries to get Falcon 1 flying successfully, with previous attempts derailed by problems such as fuel leaks and a rocket-stage collision. But eventually, Falcon 1 made two successful flights: on Sept. 28, 2008, and July 14, 2009.
In March 2006 SpaceX made its first Falcon 1 launch, which began successfully but ended prematurely because of a fuel leak and fire. By this time, however, the company had already earned millions of dollars in launching orders, many of them from the U.S. government.
SpaceX has approximately 40 Falcon 9 missions on the manifest. Named for the Star Wars Millennium Falcon; 9 refers to the nine Merlin engines that power the first stage; one Merlin vacuum engine powers the second stage. Designed from day one to safely carry crew.
Since June 2010, rockets from the Falcon 9 family have been launched 210 times, with 208 full mission successes, one partial failure and one total loss of the spacecraft. In addition, one rocket and its payload were destroyed on the launch pad during the fueling process before a static fire test was set to occur.
Its total of 61 successful launches is tied with a 1980 record, for Soviet R-7 rockets. Most of the SpaceX launches carried commercial payloads, including the companys own network of Starlink communications satellites.

Since March 2006, SpaceX has launched 5 Falcon 1 and 204 Falcon 9 rockets. Of these 3 Falcon 1 and 2 Falcon 9 launches were complete failures and one Falcon 9 launch was a partial failure.
