In the search box on the taskbar, type the name of the program or app you want to troubleshoot. Select and hold (or right-click) it, and then select Open file location. Open a document after a file corruption error Click File Open Browse and then go to the location or folder where the document (Word), workbook (Excel), or presentation (PowerPoint) is stored. Click the file you want, and then click the arrow next to Open, and click Open and Repair.
To fix Compatibility mode issue in Word, you can head to Files Options Save. Tap on Save files in this format and make sure its set to the modern type of document.

Press and hold Ctrl to select more than one document. Note. Documents will be merged in the order in which they appear in the file list.
Word On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Output and Sharing, click Compatibility . Under Compatibility Report, clear the Check documents for compatibility check box. Tip: To check the compatibility of a document after you have turned off the Compatibility Report, on the View menu, click Compatibility Report.
Select the File tab again once the document is open. Select Info, which provides you with additional options on the right-hand side of the screen. Locate compatibility mode in these options and select the Convert button, which automatically changes the file to the most recent version of Word.
