Each can be a text string, or array of strings, such as a range of cells. For example, =TEXTJOIN( ,TRUE, The, sun, will, come, up, tomorrow.) will return The sun will come up tomorrow.
0:23 2:51 How to use the TEXTJOIN function in Excel - YouTube YouTube Start of suggested clip End of suggested clip Lets use the text join function to join the values from these four columns into a single resultMoreLets use the text join function to join the values from these four columns into a single result with a comma as a delimiter between each value to get started lets begin by entering the text join
The TEXTJOIN() function is more flexible and I suspect will be very popular. It gives you two benefits over CONCAT(): The ability to specify a delimiter a character or characters (for example a comma or a space) to insert between each item of text you want to concatenate. The ability to ignore empty values.
Both of these functions let you join (concatenate) text in different cells together. TEXTJOIN lets you join values with a delimiter of your choice, and has an option to ignore empty values. CONCAT simply mashes all values together without options.
CONCAT can join only two things while CONCATENATE can join two or more things.
If your Excel TEXTJOIN function is not working but you need to use it urgently, in this case you can use the alternative option like CONCAT function. This function offers you the same functions as CONCATENATE.
Use the ampersand character instead of the CONCATENATE function. The ampersand () calculation operator lets you join text items without having to use a function. For example, =A1 B1 returns the same value as =CONCATENATE(A1,B1).
The TEXTJOIN function combines the text from multiple ranges and/or strings, and includes a delimiter you specify between each text value that will be combined. If the delimiter is an empty text string, this function will effectively concatenate the ranges.
The function can handle up to 252 text arguments. The resulting string can contain a maximum of 32,767 characters, which is the cell limit in Excel. If this limit is exceeded, a TEXTJOIN formula returns the #VALUE!
TEXTJOIN IF to merge text with conditions To have it done, use the IF function to evaluate a range of cells and return an array of values that meet the condition to the text1 argument of TEXTJOIN.
