LATEX distinguishes between three types of lists: bul- leted list, ordered list, and descriptive list. The bulleted list, where the order of elements is not im- portant, is called itemize. On the other hand, or- dered lists are termed enumerate, as their elements are numbered.
Examples of basic lists The itemize environment for bulleted (unordered) lists. The enumerate environment for numbered (ordered) lists. The description environment. Nested lists: label style. Customizing lists: changing labels. Customizing lists: changing the layout. Using the enumitem package to modify and create lists.
To create a numbered list in LaTeX, you can use the \begin{enumerate} command along with the \item command. You can also create sub-levels of the numbered lists by adding a sub-command within the greater enumerate environment.
The enumerate environment produces a numbered list. Enumerations can be nested within one another, up to four levels deep. They can also be nested within other paragraph-making environments. Each item of an enumerated list begins with an \item command. There must be at least one \item command within the environment.
text. tex: Re: How do I number paragraphs in LaTeX? Then use \N in front of every paragraph-to-be-numbered, i.e. \N Para.
Unordered (bulleted) lists are produced by the itemize environment, where each list entry starts by using the \item command, which also generates the bullet symbol.
The items of a bulleted list must be short. Avoid bulleted items that are longer than two lines. If you need to have longer items, put them in the running text. Bulleted items should not repeat parts of the introductory sentence.
You can use one of the predefined options (as shown in my answer) or a different symbol of your choice as follows: \setbeamertemplate{itemize subsubitem}{\checkmark} with \checkmark being the different symbol of choice in this example. \setbeamertemplate{itemize subsubitem}{+} would give you a + as itemize symbol.
