In the TextEdit app on your Mac, choose File Open. Select the document, then click Open. If your document is stored in iCloud Drive, you can select TextEdit in the iCloud section of the sidebar, then double-click your document.
On your Mac, open an app that lets you create documents. For example, open TextEdit to create a plain text, rich text, or HTML document. Click New Document in the Open dialog, or choose File New.
How to Open and Edit a Text File on a Mac Navigate to your Applications folder and double-click TextEdit. Your TextEdit window opens. Press cmd+O. Navigate to the desired text file and double-click the filename to load it. Click the insertion cursor anywhere in the file and begin typing. Press Command+S.

Find the Control key (Command key on Mac). While holding that key down, also press the F key. A find box will open, and you can enter the word Mumbai to locate it on the page.
Introduction to Finder Open Finder and navigate to the folder you want to search. In the toolbar below the search box, you have two search options: This Mac or the current folder. Type your search word in the search box. Click on the file name in the search result to see a thumbnail of the document.
Use the app store Locate the app store on your Mac and launch the program. Type Microsoft Word into the search text box to find the program. Press the Microsoft Word result and click either Get or to download the application. Once you do that, sign in with your Apple username and password.
