In android, CheckBox control allow users to change the state of control either Checked or Unchecked but the radio button cannot be unchecked once it is checked. Generally, we can use RadioButton controls in an android application to allow users to select only one option from the set of values.
Of course the correct way to get the checked state of a Radio Button or a CheckBox is to use isChecked(). This is what will tell you if the button has been checked. The isChecked() method is defined in the CompoundButton superclass. isSelected() is defined in the top-level View class.

To create each radio button option, create a RadioButton in your layout. Because radio buttons are mutually exclusive, group them inside a RadioGroup . The system ensures that only one radio button within a group can be selected at a time.
1. Radio buttons are used when we need to pick a single option out of various available alternatives. A checkbox authorises us to choose one or more options. 2. Here we use an HTML tag and set the radio as a type attribute.
Android radio button is a widget that can have more than one option to choose from. The user can choose only one option at a time. Each option here refers to a radio button and all the options for the topic are together referred to as Radio Group. Hence, Radio Buttons are used inside a RadioGroup.
Radio buttons let the user select one option from a set of mutually exclusive options. Use radio buttons if the user needs to see all available options listed. If its not necessary to show all options, use a spinner instead.
