Hi everyone. Steve Patterson here from Photoshop Essentials. In an earlier video, we saw that we can add more than one stroke around text using layer effects. And we used them to create these rainbow colored strokes. If we look in the Layers panel, we see that I used a total of six strokes, with each one set to a different color and size. But while layer effects made it easy to add the strokes, theres a problem. If we look closely, notice how the letters have rounded edges and corners. But as the strokes move further out from the text, they start to lose that roundness. And by the time we get to the outer stroke, all we have left is a bunch of straight lines. Unfortunately thats just the way layer effects work and theres really nothing we can do about it. Unless we can think of a different way to add the strokes. One that doesnt use layer effects.
