To automatically indent selected code Click Format Selection in Edit, Advanced, or press CTRL+K, CTRL+F. Format Selection applies the smart indenting rules for the language in which you are programming to the selected text.
The shortcut key Ctrl + M or Ctrl + (Ctrl and greater than) indents all the highlighted text in the MS-word. Ctrl + Shift + M or Ctrl + is used to decrease the indent of selected text in Word and other programs.
Technically, it is fine to either indent using the tab key or with the space bar. Indenting once with the tab key means just pressing the tab key once. Indenting once with the space bar means pressing the space bar 4 times.
The Tab key will indent your lines for you.
To indent all of the lines in a highlighted segment of text, click on the Format menu in Google Docs, followed by Align Indent. Then click on Indentation Options. In the Indentation Options window, you can select a specific number of inches to indent the highlighted text to the right or to the left.
To indent the current line, or a visual block: ctrl-t, ctrl-d - indent current line forward, backwards (insert mode) visual or - indent block by sw (repeat with . ) then try hitting the F5 key while in insert mode (or just :set paste ).
First-line indent by default On the Home tab, right-click the Normal style, and choose Modify. Select Format, and then choose Paragraph. On the Indents and Spacing tab, under Indentation, select First line. Select OK.
On the Home tab, select Line and Paragraph Spacing Line Spacing Options. The Paragraph dialog box opens. On the Indents and Spacing tab, select the options you want, and click OK. The Paragraph dialog box options are described in Adjust indents and spacing.
