Insert comments in a document To add a new comment in Reading View, select the text you want to add a comment about, and then click Comments New Comment. To view comments in Edit View, click Review Show Comments. To add a new comment, click Review New Comment.

I cannot see any comments. Step 1: Go to the Review tab and select All Markup in the drop down menu (Word 2019). Step 2: Click on Show markup below All Markup and tick Comments (Word 2019).
Place the insertion point where you want to insert your file, and then on the Outlining toolbar, click the Insert Subdocument button. In the Insert Subdocument dialog box, select the file to be inserted (the source document), and then click Open.
In the Comments pane, you can see a single list of all comments in your document, including resolved comments. To switch between the contextual view and the Comments pane, simply click the Comments button in the upper right corner of your Word window.
Alternatively, to insert comments in Word, click the Review tab in the Ribbon. Then click the New Comment button in the Comments button group. Using either method then inserts a comment and opens a text box at the right side of the document. Enter the text of the comment into the text box.
