CSV (comma delimited) will not open correctly and the data within will be displayed incorrectly. This is due to regional Excel settings that have default list separator options where files will either be read with a comma separator or semicolon separator.
In North America and some other countries, the default list separator is a comma, so you get CSV comma delimited. In European countries, a comma is reserved for the decimal symbol, and the list separator is generally set to semicolon. That is why the result is CSV semicolon delimited.
Basically, Excel must uniquely identifying the character that separates parameters. If the decimal point is comma you cannot use this also to separate parameters, so semicolon is used.
Open your CSV using a text editor. Press Enter/Return to create a new line at the very top, and add sep=; if the separator used in the CSV is a semicolon (;), or sep=, if the separator is a comma (,). Save your changes (command + S or control + S), then re-open in any Spreadsheet app.
CSV files, do the following: Open a . CSV document in Microsoft Excel. Click File. Select Save As Select File Type as CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (. csv). Click Save. If prompted, choose Keep Current Format.
Click File Options Advanced. Under Editing options, clear the Use system separators check box. Change the default Decimal separator.

Re: Handling comma in the data while writing to a CSV. So for data fields that contain a comma, you should just be able to wrap them in a double quote. Fields containing line breaks (CRLF), double quotes, and commas should be enclosed in double-quotes.
Convert your spreadsheet into a tab-delimited text file Open the File menu and select the Save as command. In the Save as type drop-down box, select the Text (tab delimited) (*. txt) option. Select the Save button. If you see warning messages pop up, select the OK or Yes button.
To embed a newline in an Excel cell, press Alt+Enter. Then save the file as a . csv. Youll see that the double-quotes start on one line and each new line in the file is considered an embedded newline in the cell.
