After watching this video, you will know how to insert footnotes and endnotes in Word and how to change the style of these notes. Inserting a footnote is quite easy. We click into text, at the position where we want to insert the reference to the footnote. Then we go to the References tab and click on Insert Footnotes. As we can see, Word will automatically insert a line at the end of the page and also the number 1 since it is our first footnote. Here we can now write our referencing text. When we go back to the content, we can see that the referencing number is also inserted where we first placed our cursor. Of course, we can insert more footnotes on a single page. Word will simply make room for them at the end of the page. Inserting an endnote works the same way. We again click into the text, where we want the reference to the endnote to be inserted. Word for the web. Use footnotes and endnotes to explain, comment on, or provide references to something in a document. Usually, footnotes appear at the bottom of the page, while endnotes come at the end of the document or section.
-- A footnote appears at the bottom of the page that contains its reference number. Endnotes all appear at the end of the document. To place an endnote, just select Insert Endnote (rather than Insert Footnote) in the References tab.

Remove or change a footnote or endnote separator The Footnotes pane appears at the bottom of your document. In both MLA and APA, a footnote example includes the citation found at the bottom, or foot, of the page corresponding to the superscript number found in the body of the work. PC and Mac In a document that contains endnotes, Choose ViewNormal. Choose View Footnotes. With the pointer, press the arrow to the right of the box that says All Endnotes. Several choices will appear. Highlight the line. Delete the line. Close the Endnote window and Save your work.
Insert footnotes and endnotes Click where you want to reference to the footnote or endnote. On the References tab, select Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote. Enter what you want in the footnote or endnote. Return to your place in the document by double-clicking the number or symbol at the beginning of the note.
Footnotes. Footnotes are listed at the bottom of the page on which a citation is made. A numeral is placed in the text to indicate the cited work and again at the bottom of the page in front of the footnote. A footnote lists the author, title and details of publication, in that order.
