How to write an address on an envelope The name of the sender should be placed on the first line. If youre sending from a business, you would list the company name on the next line. Next, you should write out the building number and street name. The final line should have the city, state and ZIP code for the address.
Mr John Smith. 132, My Street, Kingston, New York 12401. United States.
A typical mailing address corresponds to a physical address somewhere (like a residence or office) and is written as follows: What is this? In this format, you have the street number (2923), street name (Clair Street), City (Reagan), State (Texas), and Zip Code (76680).
Use the following guidelines: Always put the address and the postage on the same side of your mailpiece. On a letter, the address should be parallel to the longest side. All capital letters. No punctuation. At least 10-point type. One space between city and state. Two spaces between state and ZIP Code.
The name and address go on the bottom left corner of the front of the envelope or parcel. Use a clear and easy to read hand writing (or font if you are printing the address). Use a pen or ink that is clear against the colour of the envelope or parcel. Left align the text (no centred or stepped lines).
The easiest way to parse an address is by applying a Regex. This method really proves itself when you have regular form addresses. For example, if all the address strings are like STREETNAME XX, YYYYYY CITYNAME, you can select a regexp that will split the strings to [STREETNAME, XX, YYYYYY, CITYNAME].
