Hi everyone, my name is Kevin. Today I want to show you how you can set up a line graph in Microsoft Excel. Its a lot easier than you think, and as full disclosure before we jump into this, I work at Microsoft as a full-time employee. All right, well, lets jump into it. Im going to jump on to my PC here and I have Excel 365. This comes with Office 365. Its the latest and greatest version. If you dont have Excel, you could also go to office.com, sign in. Its entirely for free and you could use Excel there. So Im going to open up Excel that I have on my desktop and what youll see here is I have a table of data with here in the one column I have the years and in the other column I have conference attendees for those different years. And looking at a table only tells me so much what I would like to do is instead Id like to see this data in the form of a chart. So how do I insert a chart? So, what we do is we go to insert on the top bar here Im going

The title should concisely tell the reader what is in the graph. Avoid the obvious use of vs. or versus or the word plotted in the title. Graphs that will appear as a figure in a publication or in a formal laboratory report will not have a title (the information is given in the figure caption).
Add a chart title manually Click anywhere in the chart to which you want to add a title. On the Layout tab, in the Labels group, click Chart Title. Click Centered Overlay Title or Above Chart. In the Chart Title text box that appears in the chart, type the text that you want.
Graph Title: The title appears at the top of the graph and should describe the graph. Axis Labels: The labels that appear along the x and y-axes describing what is being measured.
Insert a text box on a chart Click the chart to which you want to add a text box. In the chart, click where you want to start a corner of the text box, and then drag until the text box is the size that you want. In the text box, type the text that you want. The text will wrap in the text box.
In the Text area of the ribbon, click the Header Footer button. How to add a title in excel online, 2016 and 2019: Open the Excel document. Choose the Insert tab. Select Header Footer from the menu. Select the location for the title, then type it.
The x-coordinate always comes first, followed by the y-coordinate.
All line plots should have a title to indicate what data the plot shows. Be careful not to confuse line plots with line graphs. Line graphs have lines connecting the dots, and may not display frequency.
Parts of a Line Graph Title: It tells us about the data for which the graph is drawn. X-axis: It tells us about the label on the x-axis, which is the time interval (days of week in the above example). Y-axis: It tells us about the label on the y-axis, which is the quantity (muffins sold in the above example).
A line graph must have a title, 2 axes, labels, points and a line. A bar graph must have a title, 2 axes, labels and bars. A column graph must have a title, 2 axes, labels and bars. A histogram must have a title, 2 axes, labels and bars that touch each other.
All graphs, diagrams and images should be titled as Figures. These will be numbered consecutively throughout the dissertation: Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, and so on. After the numbering, there should be a short and concise title. Titles for figures appear below the figure itself.
