Normal Daily Settlement Procedure NYMEX Light Sweet Crude Oil (CL) futures are settled by CME Group staff based on trading activity on CME Globex during the settlement period. The settlement period is defined as: 14:28:00 to 14:30:00 ET for the Active Month and 14:28:00 to 14:30:00 ET for calendar spreads.
The first six contract months in NYMEX WTI Crude Oil futures (CL), Natural Gas futures (NG), Heating Oil futures (HO), and RBOB Gasoline futures (RB) are settled by CME Group staff based solely upon trading activity on CME Globex between 14:28:00 and 14:30:00 Eastern Time (ET).
CME Globex: SUN - FRI: 5:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Is there a special daily settlement time for the last business day of the month? No. Following the change, daily settlement price determination will occur at 4:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. CT (1:00 p.m. ET/12 noon CT on shortened trading days) every day.
The settlement date is the date when a trade is final, and the buyer must make payment to the seller while the seller delivers the assets to the buyer. The settlement date for stocks and bonds is usually two business days after the execution date (T+2).
Settlement prices of the contract months other than A) shall be set every trading day by adding / subtracting the latest Contract Spread Price* in the auction trading session, excluding the contracts concluded in the Night Session, on the relevant trading day from the Settlement Price of the Leading Contract Month; or
