What is LUT in GST? The full form of LUT is Letter of Undertaking. It is a document that exporters can file to export goods or services without having to pay taxes. Under the new GST regime, all exports are subject to IGST, which can later be reclaimed via a refund against the tax paid.
How can I as a taxpayer file the Letter of Undertaking (LUT) for export of goods or services at the GST Portal? Access the GST Portal at .gst.gov.in URL. Login to the GST Portal with valid credentials. Click the Services User Services Furnish Letter of Undertaking (LUT) command. Form GST RFD-11 is displayed.
How to download LUT from GST portal? Go to GST portal. Login with your credentials. Go to services tab and navigate to Furnish Letter of Undertaking under User services tab. You will see that Form GST-RFD-11 will be displayed. Upload previous LUT and check all the declaration boxes and fill the required details.
The validity of such LUTs is for a period of one year (till the end of financial year). An exporter furnishing LUTs is required to furnish fresh LUT for each financial year.
All registered taxpayers who have zero-rated supply of goods or services have to furnish LUT in Form GST RFD-11 on the GST Portal before affecting such supply.
