On your Mac: Choose Apple menu  System Settings (or System Preferences), then click your name (or Apple ID). Click Password Security. Next to Two-Factor Authentication, click Turn On and follow the onscreen instructions. On the web: Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
If you have a phone number that isnt associated with your trusted device, consider verifying it as an additional trusted phone number. If your iPhone is your only trusted device and its missing or damaged, you wont be able to receive verification codes required to access your account.
Get a verification code on a Mac On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar. Click Sign-In Security, click Two-Factor Authentication, then click Get Verification Code. Enter the code in the notification, then click OK.

On your Mac, use the Advanced options in Privacy Security settings to adjust the security settings of your Mac. To change these settings, choose Apple menu System settings, click Privacy Security in the sidebar, then click Advanced on the right.
