However, if you wish to preserve outlines or hyperlinks in the exported PDF, opting for the Editable PDF Format is necessary.
Flattening your files is essential for wide format and to ensure your print will turn out as you expect.
Open the Layers panel (if the Layers panel is not visible, choose View Navigation Panels Layers). Click the Options pop-up menu, and then select either Merge Layers or Flatten Layers.
Flattening a PDF is necessary to reduce a documents size, if a PDF includes a form, or to meet sponsor formatting requirements.
