If your Excel spreadsheet isnt printing properly, clearing or setting a print area can often help. Sometimes the wrong print area has already been set, in which case you want to clear it. To do this from the Page Layout Ribbon, click the Print Area icon and select Clear Print Area.
If you want the row and column headers always visible when you scroll through your worksheet, you can lock the top row and/or first column. Tap View Freeze Panes, and then tap the option you need.
To freeze horizontal and vertical headings simultaneously: Select the cell in the upper-left corner of the range you want to remain scrollable. Select View tab, Windows Group, click Freeze Panes from the menu bar. Excel inserts two lines to indicate where the frozen panes begin.
Besides locking columns and rows separately, Microsoft Excel lets you freeze both rows and columns at the same time. Heres how: Select a cell below the last row and to the right of the last column youd like to freeze. On the View tab, click Freeze Panes Freeze Panes.
Freeze as many rows or columns as you want To freeze multiple rows (starting with row 1), select the row below the last row you want frozen and click Freeze Panes. To freeze multiple columns, select the column to the right of the last column you want frozen and click Freeze Panes.
Fix data that is cut off in cells Select the cells. On the Home tab, click Wrap Text. The text in the selected cell wraps to fit the column width. When you change the column width, text wrapping adjusts automatically. Note: If all wrapped text is not visible, it might be because the row is set to a specific height.
Use a Header Click the Insert tab. Click the Header Footer button on the ribbon. The spreadsheet zooms out slightly and the Click to add header text box opens at the top of the spreadsheet. Click into the text box and type the spreadsheet title.
Go to the Sheet Options group of the Page Layout tab. Remove the check mark in the box next to Print in the Headings column. The column headings will no longer be printed.
Freeze columns and rows Select the cell below the rows and to the right of the columns you want to keep visible when you scroll. Select View Freeze Panes Freeze Panes.
To pin data in the same place and see it when you scroll, you can freeze rows or columns. On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Select a row or column you want to freeze or unfreeze. At the top, click View. Freeze. Select how many rows or columns to freeze.
