hello and welcome to Vancouver carpenter so this is a really common problem with drywall when youre doing some demo and you rip something off the wall and it exposes all this Brown under there of the paper and the drywall you may have already experienced when you might overtop of this what happens is it causes all of this to blister really badly the solution to that is to seal it the first thing youre going to need to do however though is to prep it and make sure theres no loose spots left so I usually just use a putty knife and I go around scraping and kind of cutting it off with a blade I prefer to use this over an exacto knife some people like to use a razor and theyll cut and they peel it off and itll have a nice clean line but what I dont like about that is that it scores the drywall and leaves a weak spot where it could crack in the future so I usually just use one of these you just find the edge where its starting to peel so that ones ready now and well do some more on

Heres how to go about it: Begin by lightly scoring the lining paper with a scraper. Next, soak the paper in warm soapy water or a mild sugar soap solution to make it pliable. After around ten minutes, itll be ready to remove with a filling knife. You might need to resoak patches several times for a clean finish.

The best thing to do is use pva as a adhesive , put it down the joints and let it soak for five mins then press down on the joints and wipe clean with sponge.

Paste the wall lining paper is a key preparation step to accomplish a smoother finish to your newly decorated walls. One of the perks to paste the wall lining paper is that you apply the adhesive directly to the wall which can make the process a little easier.
You will just need to use some strong paste or a overlap adhesive. you can get this from BQ. I would use a thin blade on a trimming knife to gently get behind the paper, then apply the overlap adhesive then stick back down then gently rub the paper to stick, with a damp cloth. Then the area may need a touch up.
