today were going to learn about classes and IDs inside HTML and CSS so a couple episodes ago we talked about how to style our HTML inside our index page and in this episode were going to talk about something called classes and IDs which are essentially a way for us to target a specific HTML elements inside our pages in order to give them a certain styling now to give you guys an example about what exactly is different between using classes and IDs versus just going inside our style sheet like we did in the previous episodes and just target the h2 or the paragraph tag here now when we do it this way just by writing h2 or paragraph then we style every single h2 tag or every single paragraph tag inside our website meaning that right now every single paragraph inside the website would essentially be green so it makes sense that we should only do it this way if we want every single paragraph to have a certain styling or every single h2 tag to have a certain styling but what if I want

In JavaScript, The document. getElementsByTagName() method can be used to get the value of the id attribute of a link or anchor tag. It takes a tag name in the parameter and returns an HTMLCollection, similar to a list or array.
It is also used by JavaScript to access and manipulate the element with the specific id. The syntax for id is: write a hash character (#), followed by an id name. Then, define the CSS properties within curly braces {}.
Note: Technically, the value for an id attribute may contain any character, except whitespace characters.
ID's are unique Each ID can have an unlimited amount of Styles applied to it. Each page can have only one element with that ID. IDs use “#” in the CSS which can also be used as an identifier for HTML “Jump Links” (hyperlinks).
How to Add ID to Element Using JavaScript element. setAttribute("id", "value") const element = document. createElement('h3'); element. setAttribute("id", "heading"); var body = document. querySelector('body'); body. appendChild(element); document. ...

The id attribute is a Global Attribute, and can be used on any HTML element.
Answer. As HTML and CSS are designed to be very fault tolerant, most browsers will in fact apply the specified styles to all elements given the same id. However, this is considered bad practice as it defies the W3C spec. Applying the same id to multiple elements is invalid HTML and should be avoided.
An id on an tag assigns an identifier to the image. The identifier must be unique across the page.
The syntax for id is: write a hash character (#), followed by an id name.
Yes ing to most of the tutorials it cannot be applied more than once. But I wrote a simple mark-up in HTML and applied some CSS. I have applied the same ID more than once (3 times). Two times in h1 header and one time in h2 header.
