in this tutorial im going to show you how you can easily fix broken animated gifs to work in x lights so when im doing a sequence sometimes i want an animated gif to put on a matrix or a mega tree and theres lots of sites that you can search for where you can download them for free or you can sometimes purchase them but youll get a situation where sometimes the gif is not totally compatible with x lights so as an example ive got one here of a waving center and ive downloaded it to my desktop if i go to x lights and drop the image effect on and then browse to the gif you can see we get nothing its just a a black script blank screen so im using photoshop to do this you can use different tools but youll have to investigate a similar way of doing this so what im going to do im going to open the center if and here we are we have the animated gif and if you look here you can see all of the frames of the animation and its as simple as doing this so were going to click on export
