[Music] hi Im Ralph and today Im going to talk about blue nun charts once more in the last episode I talked about spent burner charts today I would like to talk about release Bernard charts again Bernard charts have nothing to do with scrum the framework itself they are very good practice to show remaining work to work with you burned down so in the context of a sprint just to quickly summarize is thats when you have your sprint backlog and thats when you see how much work is in regards to the Sprint goal we want to achieve how are we doing timing wise honest your work look like now in the other context is that we have our product backlog out of which we take our elements in regards to the forecast and often we have an estimate on there again whether you count use relative estimation or time estimation is left up to you empirical data shows relative estimation in counting are usually the best way to work so lets say you have all your product backlog items they all have an estimat

The horizontal axis of the sprint burndown chart represents the days within a sprint, whereas the vertical axis represents the remaining estimated effort-hours. The chart should be updated every day to exhibit the total estimated effort remaining across all the uncompleted tasks.
It displays the scope of a project and the work completed. Using a burn-up chart, a team can easily track their progress as they work towards completion of a sprint. A burn-up chart provides information in a straightforward and user-friendly way.
Ideally 12 hours is the best amount of time. This can be broken down into two, six-hour days. Once the task breakdown has been completed, the team can then create and plot their burndown chart.
How to read a burndown chart X-axis (horizontal axis): The X-axis is the horizontal axis and represents the amount of time left to complete the project. Y-axis (vertical axis): The Y-axis is the vertical axis and represents the remaining effort needed to complete the project.
The burn-up chart is updated at the end of each unit of time. Once updated, the chart shows the teams actual progress. The team effort line climbs from the bottom up towards the total effort line. When the two lines meet, the teams goal is met.
The difference between them lies in the time range and ownership. A Sprint Burndown chart is used by the Development team within one Sprint to monitor work progress, while a Product Burndown chart is used by the Product Owner for product management purposes.
A Sprint Burndown chart shows the progress of how many story points have been completed (burned) during the Sprint and how close the team is to complete them all. A Release Burndown chart shows the progress of how many Features or (in some cases) Epics have been completed during the Release.
Release Burn-up chart is used to track a progress of a release by comparing planned vs completed work. One gets to know how much work the team has completed over a certain span of time. The work could be either user story points or the number of hours spent.
The concept behind both the burnup and burndown charts is to quickly capture the points in the Product Backlog that can be used to show progress completed, or work remaining, over a defined period - typically a two-week Sprint cycle.
