Headers and footers can be used to display information in the top and bottom margins of your document. They can include details like the authors name, page numbers, the date, and more. To create your own header or footer from scratch, double-click the margin at the top or bottom of your document. This will unlock the header or footer area, so you can add whatever information you want. You can also use the tools on the Design tab, which will appear on the right side of the Ribbon. When youre done, you can close the header or footer using the button here, or by pressing Esc on your keyboard. A footer is the last element on the page. At a minimum it is at the bottom of the viewport, or lower if the page content is taller than the viewport. Simple, right? ?
Setting bottom to 0 and right to 0 make sure that the div remains fixed at the bottom-most position of the page and as right as possible. If you want your footer to occupy the entire width of the screen, make sure you are using the bottom property with width set to 100%.
Using Flexbox in CSS we can fix it very easily with following steps. First set the min-height of body to 100vh. Set the body display to flex display: flex; and flex-direction to column flex-direction: column; . Select footer element (of whatever you want to stick to bottom) and set top margin to auto margin-top: auto; .
The reason your footer is only halfway down the page with position: absolute is that you havent set a min-height on the body and html elements. Without that, the body only takes up as much space as you have content for it -- and then the footer is aligned with that bottom, not the bottom of the window.
If you want to keep the footer at the bottom of the text (sticky footer), but keep it from always staying at the bottom of the screen, you can use: position: relative; (keeps the footer in relation to the content of the page, not the view port) and clear: both; (will keep the footer from riding up on other content).
If the footer is too large, then it takes up too much space at the bottom of the Web page. Within the #footer bracket tags of { and } are listed the width: Xpx; and height: Xpx; coding. Change the width to 100% to make the footer as wide as the rest of the website content.
Set margin on the footer. Because you set the Body the footers parent element to Flex, you can set the top margin on the footer element to Auto. This makes the footer push away from the content above, causing the footer to stick to the bottom of the page.
Just add data-position=fixed to the div tag if you are using jQuery. Hope this helps.
