to make sure the proper tags are being used i usually peruse the tag panel in our document the root tag is part to be pdf ua the root tag must be document to change it single click on it i type a less than sign and then i type in document with capital d and i type in a greater than sign to close a tag all tags are enclosed in less than and greater than signs so when i look at the first tag under document h1 is a heading level one and the first line in my document is a heading level one so this is correct the next few lines are paragraphs or p tags i have a list or l tag sometimes i drill down to make sure that there are list items or li tags and under the li tag i make sure that theres a list body tag or an l body tag where l and b are capital letters the paragraph and heading tags are appropriate until i get to a figure caption for a caption its easiest to change the p tag to a caption tag in the tag panel type a lesson sign type in caption with a capital c and type in a greater th
