hey everyone thanks for watching in this video Ill teach you how to make a budget template that will automate based on what you enter in the tracker show you how much money you have left in each category and will change based on what month you select in the drop-down list and the best part is you can do it in less than 15 minutes so lets get started I am going to ask you to take 7 seconds to hit subscribe and the bail notification if you do that youll be the first to get notified when I put a new video out there which is at least once a week also feel free to hit that like button and in the comment section let me know how you found my channel thanks alright so the first thing we need to do is create a table that will be entering transactions into so adding headers is the first part Id like to have these headings but you could probably do whatever you want to I add month the date the description of the transaction the category of the transaction belongs to a column for income values

CSV is a delimited data format that has fields/columns separated by the comma character and records/rows terminated by newlines.
Basically, saving a file as comma separated values (csv) uses a carriage return \r rather than a line feed \n as a newline. Way back before OS X, this was actually the correct Mac file ending, but after the move to be more unix-y, the correct line ending should be \n .
The rules for data which it understands are as follows: Each row must have the same number of comma-separated fields. Whitespace (space or tab) adjacent to a comma is ignored. Adjacent commas, or a comma at the start or end of a line (whitespace apart) indicates a null field.
A CSV file contains a set of records separated by a carriage return/line feed (CR/LF) pair (\r\n), or by a line feed (LF) character. Each record contains a set of fields separated by a comma.
Can I import my bank transactions from a spreadsheet/CSV file? Click the gear icon in the top right corner. Select Import Income or Import Expenses On the Import screen, use the drop-down to select if you want to import Both Expenses and Income, Expenses Only, or Income Only from the file you will be uploading.
The CSV file must be saved with UTF-8 or RFC-4180 encoding for special and multi-byte characters to import correctly. You can use utilities, such as Notepad++ to save the file in UTF-8 format.
Specifying and Saving Newline Characters Open a CSV file in the text editor. Click Save As from the menu. Specify CR+LF or LF as a newline character and save the file.
Files in CSV format should have the extension . csv. The CRLF character (CR = Carriage Return, LF= Line Feed) is used to separate the individual data sets (rows) (Windows operating systems), i.e. each data set must be followed by a CRLF. The CSV file must end with a CRLF character.
