hey there its brick city from documents netcom and today were going to be talking about how to find all pdfs on our mac this can be handy for a couple reasons number one if youre looking for a certain PDF and youve exhausted all other ways to find it you can just get a big old list of all your PDFs and then kind of dig through it from there it can also be helpful as a as a starter point if you want to start with a list of PDFs and then drill down from there to kind of build your query so theres a bunch of different ways to do it but the easiest way is to type command F on your Mac open up a searching this Mac window so the first thing you want to do is look at this section which shows where youre going to search if you have this Mac highlighted which i do then its going to search anywhere on the computer if you if I just had it had desktop highlighted which is the folder I happen to be in then it would only search the current folder so in this case I want to be searching this ma

How To Search for a Word in a PDF Using Any PDF Reader Open any PDF with your default PDF reader. Press CTRL+F (Windows) or CMD+F (Mac). In the text box, enter your search term. The first match will be highlighted. Press Enter or click the right arrow to navigate between the results.
Open your PDF with your default PDF reader. Press the control (Ctrl) button and the F key simultaneously. A text box will pop up type in the keyword or phrase you want to locate in the box. The first matching word or phrase will be highlighted in the PDF.
How to search a PDF on a Mac Press CMD + F. In the text box that appears, search your selected term or phrase. Click the arrows to navigate the highlighted results.
Press Ctrl + F (or Command + F on a Mac) to open the search bar within the browser or PDF reader, and then enter the keyword you want to search for within the PDF.
How to Extract Text from a PDF Using OCR on Mac Make an image selection over the text you want extracted: Click on the image selection to bring up the annotation popover: Click the Text Recognition button: Wait for the text to be recognized: Click the Smart Copy button to copy the extracted text.
One of the main reasons why PDFs are not searchable is that they dont include any text. The PDF may be a scanned document or just an image-based document. If thats the case, then there is no searchable text. You can read the text within the image-based document, but the PDF tool cannot.
When a PDF is opened in the Acrobat Reader (not in a browser), the search window pane may or may not be displayed. To display the search/find window pane, use Ctrl+F.
Note: Preview can only search a searchable PDF on mac. Go to FileEditFind. Or you can use search toolbar in the window, even press Command+F to search a pdf on mac. Input the key word you want to search in the field and the word will be highlighted in yellow as following.
