In this video, the tutorial explains how to search for a complete word in files using Linux-based terminals. The command "GRE P" with the switch "W" followed by the word you want to search for (e.g. history) allows you to search for that specific word in all filenames, including hidden files in the current directory. The command only shows matches where the word appears as an independent word, not as part of a larger word. Executing the command without the "W" switch will show all matches, including sub strings.
