Go to Settings Apps and then find the default PDF viewer youre using.
One of the main reasons why PDFs are not searchable is that they dont include any text. The PDF may be a scanned document or just an image-based document. If thats the case, then there is no searchable text. You can read the text within the image-based document, but the PDF tool cannot.
Follow the steps below: Open a PDF with your default PDF reader. Press CTRL+F (Windows) or CMD+F (Mac). Enter your search term in the search bar. The first match will be highlighted. Press Enter or use the up and down-facing arrows to move between the search results.
For Android, the default place where all PDF files go is the Downloads folder. So, follow the below steps to access downloaded PDF files from your Android: Open the File Manager app. Select Internal Storage and click the Downloads folder.
Look in the Downloads folder. Open your Android app drawer by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Select My Files (or File Manager). Once youre in the My Files app, select Downloads. You can tap the Browse icon at the bottom of your screen to search for a PDF quickly.
There are five common reasons why you cant highlight text in PDF documents in Acrobat: The PDF youre trying to highlight is a scanned document; The file is secured or protected; The file has been encrypted and cant be edited on mobile devices; Your Acrobat PDF viewer doesnt allow editing; or. The file is corrupted.
To open and update the settings, go to Edit Preferences Search. Click the Purge Cache Contents button to purge the cache and enable the search functionality to work flawlessly. To prevent this issue from happening again for any PDF file that you open, disable the caching by unchecking Enable fast find.
