hello this is John Manfredi your digital media instructor this semester Im going to create a video here describing how to trace a an image in AutoCAD in order to produce a floor plan and theres several steps involved and well use the limited number of commands since this is your earliest experience using AutoCAD software on the screen here Ive got the AutoCAD home page and Im going to click here where it says start a drawing you can also go to the Big A and choose new if that was the case you would simply chooses acad.dwt a DWT file is an AutoCAD template file it sort of sets up the look and feel of the software if you choose started drawing it I believe it opened up the same exact file because this is a default setting in AutoCAD so this is the AutoCAD screen and on the screen you see this green line here in a red line here so imagine theres a grid and there are coordinates on the screen this would be zero zero uh the vertical or the green line here represents a zero value here
