How Long Do Colleges Keep Transcripts? College transcripts do not expire and schools are obligated to maintain transcripts for all students who have enrolled in and attended their institution regardless of whether or not that student graduated.
A general rule of thumb (based on the revised JISC HE Business Classification Scheme Records Retention Schedule) is to keep such records for 6 years after the students relationship with the University.
In general, most records relating to the student relationship will be deleted after 6 years from completing an individual module. Certain records relating to practice based learning or research qualifications will be retained for 6 years after completion/ termination of qualification.
