Gary from MacMost.com answers the question on How to Edit a PDF on your Mac. The key point is that you cannot actually edit the content of a PDF in Preview. Instead, you can annotate, highlight, export, and rearrange pages, but editing the source document is necessary to create a modified version. The focus is on using markup features in Preview to work with PDFs.
