Rename Files On a Mac First, locate your PDF either in the finder or on your desktop. Then, right-click it. Select Rename and youll be able to remove or add text to the name of the file by typing on your keyboard. You can also single click on the file name on your desktop.
Save a document as a PDF on Mac On your Mac, open the document you want to save as a PDF. Choose File Print. Click the PDF button or click the down arrow to open the PDF pop-up menu, then choose Save as PDF. Choose a name and location for the PDF file. To protect your document with a password, click Security Options.
How to Rename a PDF? There are 2 ways to rename a file. Click a PDF file you want to rename, then right-click the file - select Rename - Type the desired name for the PDF files and press Enter. Or click a PDF file you want to rename, then click the name of the file and you can change the name directly.
How to save one page of a PDF on Mac. Navigate to File Print. A new dialog box will appear. Under Pages, select the page number you want to save separately.
Open the PDF document. On a Mac, this will open the preview app. Using the thumbnail views, scroll down to the first page that you want to save separately from your PDF. Drag and drop the single page from the thumbnail of the PDF to your Mac desktop.
There are four probable reasons why your PDF cannot be renamed 1) The file is still open with an application 2) the file is deleted or changed in another window 3) the file is being named too long or with characters that are not allowed 4) the file was made with a faulty application.
Check Permissions: If youre having problems with a file or folders permissions, consider modifying them. To change the permissions, right-click the folder or file, choose Get Info, and then go to the Sharing Permissions section. Ensure you can edit the item with your user accounts permission.
Rename files, folders, and disks on Mac On your Mac, select the item, then press Return. Or force click the items name. Enter a new name. You can use numbers and most symbols. You cant include a colon (:) or start the name with a period (.). Some apps may not allow you to use a slash (/) in a filename. Press Return.
