After installing the golden compiler on the computer, the user is prompted to check the compiler's version by typing a command. While the compiler works well in a local directory, issues arise when trying to access it from another directory, such as the root directory. The solution is to add the golang path to the directory. This allows the compiler to run properly and check the version. However, if SSH connection is terminated, the compiler cannot be accessed until logging back in.

When you use EXPORTSYMBOL in your module that means other modules can use this API. When you define variable/function as extern that means you are telling the compiler that the declaration of variable/function is somewhere else in some other module.
Declare and define the symbol (functions or variables) which you want to make it visible to other kernel modules. Then below the definition, use EXPORTSYMBOL(symbol name) . Now it is visible to all loadable modules. Now take the kernel driver who is gonna use the above-exported symbol.
EXPORTSYMBOL() is a macro the Linux kernel headers define. It has not much in common with extern. It tells the kbuild mechanism that the symbol referred to should be part of the global list of kernel symbols. That, in turn allows kernel modules to access them.
Linux export Syntax The syntax for the export command is: export [-f] [-n] [name[=value] ] Running the command without any options outputs all the exported variables and functions: The command runs successfully unless you pass an invalid option or an invalid variable [name] .
The kernels EXPORTSYMBOL() directive is used to make kernel symbols (functions and data structures) available to loadable modules; only the symbols that have been explicitly exported can by used by modules.
The export command in Linux is a built-in shell command used to export environment variables from the shell to child processes with the syntax, export variable=value . It allows you to set environment variables that will be available to all child processes.
During a kernel build, a file named Module. symvers will be generated. Module. symvers contains all exported symbols from the kernel and compiled modules. For each symbol, the corresponding CRC value is also stored.
