hi there my name is jared decker and im the owner of photo to canvas a small print shop in portland oregon i wanted to do a quick video explaining enlarging and what i do that most photo labs do not it not only creates a superior product but it allows you to print your image much larger than you may think is possible basically most labs dont actually enlarge your photo and i know this because im a photographer and ive talked to dozens of labs over my career they take the image that you give them and simply print it whatever size you want now resolution of images can get confusing so ill try to keep it simple your camera shoots images in pixels which are very small colored squares that together make up an image lets talk in phone camera terms most iphone images are about four thousand by three thousand pixels thats 12 million pixels or 12 megapixel at any resolution when resolution changes pixel count does not your image is always four thousand by three thousand unless you alter
