If you were to print a copy of your document, and ask a friend to proofread it, theyd probably mark the errors in red pen, and write any suggestions they had in the margins. Wouldnt it be easier if you could do that electronically? In Word, you canusing two features called Track Changes and Comments. Im going to turn on track changes right now so I can show you what I mean. To do this, go to the Review tab then click the Track Changes command. Now any changes I make to the document will appear as markup, which is Words answer to the traditional red pen. For example, when I delete text, it doesnt go away it just gets crossed out. When I add more text, it gets underlined. This lets the owner of the document see what changes Ive made before making them part of the final draft. You can also add comments in the margins by selecting the text you want to comment on then clicking the New Comment command. In this example, it would be best to address the letter directly to the hirin

OPTION 2 How to show comments in the Reviewing Pane Select the Review tab in the Ribbon. In the Tracking group, click Reviewing Pane. From the menu, select Reviewing Pane Vertical or Reviewing Pane Horizontal depending on how you want the pane to be shown.
Select the text you want to reformat, right-click it, and then choose Format Comment. Choose the font options you want and click OK. In this example, weve changed the font style, size and color of the comment.

In the Comments pane, you can see a single list of all comments in your document, including resolved comments. To switch between the contextual view and the Comments pane, simply click the Comments button in the upper right corner of your Word window.
I cannot see any comments. Step 1: Go to the Review tab and select All Markup in the drop down menu (Word 2019). Step 2: Click on Show markup below All Markup and tick Comments (Word 2019).

How to View Comments in Word Find the Review tab, drop down the Tracking group, and select Balloons. Click on Show All Revisions Inline to view comments inline and deletions as crossed out. Let the pointer rest on a comment inside the document. The comment will appear in a ScreenTip.
