When you need to request a signature, its most common to use a PDF or Microsoft Word document, but there are many other file types that support digital signing. They can include: XLS and XLSX. PPT and PPTX.
However, the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) specifies that electronic signatures are not legally valid when signing the following types of documents: Wills and testamentary trusts. State statutes governing divorce, adoption or other family law. Court orders or official court documents.

Convert a JPEG image to an e-signature Open the JPEG image in an image editor, such as docHub Photoshop or Canva. Use the selection tools to isolate your signature from the rest of the image. Copy the signature to a new layer and save it as a PNG file. Open the PNG file in an e-signature tool, such as docHub.
Insert a signature line Click where you want the line. Select Insert Signature Line. Select Microsoft Office Signature Line. In the Signature Setup box, you can type a name in the Suggested signer box. You can also add a title in the Suggested signers title box. Select OK. The signature line appears in your document.
There are four main formats of electronic signatures: Typewritten e-signatures. Scanned image electronic signatures. Clickwrap signatures. Digitized signature pad.
To add a digital signature, open your Microsoft Word document and click where youd like to add your signature line. From the Word ribbon, select the Insert tab and then click Signature Line in the Text group. A Signature Setup pop-up box appears. Enter your information in the text fields and click OK.
