hi and welcome to this tutorial here Im going to show you how to add multiple lines to cells in Excel now if youd like to get the worksheet you see here go to teach excel.com and you can download it there so what Im talking about is actually adding Lines within a cell not adding another row so lets go ahead let me delete this real quick and lets write some sample text right okay so usually when you type in Excel its going to be in this format right this is sample text in Excel and if you want to type something that looks like its in a second line you have to type it in the next row right this is sample text in Excel like that however Im going to show you right now how to do it within the same cell now there are a few caveats need to make sure you get the formatting right but heres how you can do it so this is sample text period now hit alt plus enter so the ALT key and enter and you see it takes me to the next line just like that now when I hit enter the formatting will get a

Click the location inside the cell where you want to break the line or insert a new line and press Alt+Enter.
Go to the File tab. Select Options from the menu. In the Options window select Advanced. Under the the Editing options uncheck the After pressing Enter, move selection box if you want the active cell cursor not to move after pressing enter.
Press Alt + Enter to add another line to the cell. Tip. Keep pressing Alt + Enter until the cursor is where you would like to type your next line of text.
Stay in the same cell after pressing the Enter key with Shortcut Keys. In Excel, you can also use shortcut keys to solve this task. After entering the content, please press Ctrl + Enter keys together instead of just Enter key, and you can see the entered cell is still selected.
Select a blank cell, and then on the Insert tab, click Symbol. At the bottom of the dialog box, type 2022 in the Character code box. Then click Insert, and Close. If you need another bullet on a new line underneath, type ALT+ENTER and repeat the process.
To insert bullet points using the ALT key, select the cell where you want to insert the bullet point. Select the cell where you want to insert bullet points. Press ALT+7 or ALT+9 to insert a bullet point in Excel. ALT + Number Combo. Insert a line break using ALT+Enter.
While your cursor is still in the cell where you were typing, press Alt+Enter (Windows) or Option+Enter (Mac). This will start a new line in your cell, and you can continue to type the rest of the text.
