Heres how: Select the range of cells that you want to format. Click Home Format as Table. Pick a table style that has alternate row shading. To change the shading from rows to columns, select the table, click Design, and then uncheck the Banded Rows box and check the Banded Columns box.
On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow next to Shading. Under Theme Colors, click the color that you want to use to shade your selection. Note: If you want to use a color that isnt a theme color, choose one under Standard Colors or click More Colors.
Use Excels cell shading feature to add fill colors and patterns to cells. Tips. By combining two colors with a pattern, you can create various colors and levels of shading. Be careful when adding shading to cells! If the color is too dark, cell contents may not be legible.
On the Drawing Tools Format tab, click Shape Effects Shadow, and then pick the shadow you want. When you rest your pointer on one of the shadow effects, it appears as a preview on the shape. Tip: To customize the shadow, click Shadow Options at the bottom of the shadow choices.
Advanced Border Options Select the cell(s) where you want to add the border. Click the Font dialog box launcher. Click the Border tab. Select the line style and color you want. Select a preset option or apply borders individually in the Borders section. Click OK.
