hi my name is Bree Clark and today Im going to show you how to connect a figure number to a picture in Microsoft Word have you ever seen a Word document with pictures labeled figure 1 figure 2 etc and wondered how that happened well if you know how to do it its actually pretty easy to do and those labels will auto-update as you insert new pictures with captions in this document Im going to start by adding a caption to this picture of a cat so Ill click on the picture and then Ill right click on it and pick insert caption notice that it says figure 1 is the caption but I have other options for equation or table I could also create a new label if I wanted to and I can pick the position Im going to go with below selected item as which is already the default and Im going to click OK and now I see Figure 1 labeling that picture if I scroll down to the second picture I can do the same thing Ill click on the picture and then right click and insert caption and when I click OK it will
