Rich Text Format (RTF) is a file format that lets you exchange text files between different word processors in different operating systems (OSes). For example, you can create a file in Microsoft Word and then open it in another word processor, such as Apple Pages or Google Docs.
It sounds like you are using a default theme for your email. When a theme is assigned, you have three choices for the font: Use themes font, Use my font when replying and forwarding messages, and Always use my font. When Use themes font is selected, the buttons to change the font will be disabled.
Right-click the RTF attachment and choose Save As from the context menu to open the Save As window. Use the built-in file browser to select a folder on your computer and click Save to save the RTF file in the selected folder. You need to remember the folder in which you save the RTF file.
RTF (Rich Text Format) supports text formatting, including bullets, alignment, and linked objects. Outlook automatically creates meeting and task requests and messages with voting buttons in RTF format, regardless of the default format you have set.
With rich text, its easy to create columns, add tables, and format your documents in a way that makes them easier to read. Most word processors, such as Microsoft Word, Lotus Word Pro, and AppleWorks, create rich text documents. Google Docs is another program that supports rich text formatting.
Double-click to open the message you want to save, and on the File menu, click Save As. In the Save as dialog box, in the Folder pane, choose a folder, and then the location in that selected folder where you want to save the file.
Basic HTML emails use basic text formatting but HTML to add simple elements, like headlines and clickable links, to make the email more easily scannable. Rich HTML emails include images, clickable links and buttons, graphics and other visually appealing design elements.
How to change message format from plain text to HTML in Outlook? Open your Outlook and click the File button top left corner. Choose Options Mail. Under Compose messages, in the Compose messages in this format list, choose HTML and hit OK to save the changes.
To save a file as RTF Open the Word document. From the File button, choose Save As from the menu. Rename the file if desired. Click on the Save As type choice button. Scroll down the list of file types to Rich Text Format (*.rtf) Click Save.
Changing email format to HTML in Outlook First, there is always the option to switch the email format manually. When you reply to or forward a message, you can go to Format Text on the Outlooks ribbon and click HTML.
