Add data validation to a cell or a range Select one or more cells to validate. On the Data tab, in the Data Tools group, click Data Validation. On the Settings tab, in the Allow box, select List. In the Source box, type your list values, separated by commas. Make sure that the In-cell dropdown check box is selected.

Insert a combo box or a drop-down list Go to Developer Combo Box Content Control or Drop-Down List Content Control . Select the content control, and then select Properties. To create a list of choices, select Add under Drop-Down List Properties. Type a choice in Display Name, such as Yes, No, or Maybe.
Insert drop down in Excel from a range of cells Select the cell where you want the drop-down list to appear. On the Data tab, click Data Validation. Place the cursor in the Source box or click the Collapse Dialog icon, and select the range of cells to include in your drop-down list.

In the Data Validation dialogue box, within the Settings tab, select List as the Validation criteria. In the source field, enter Yes, No. Click OK.
Change a drop down based on a range of cells Select the cell or cells containing your drop-down list. Click Data Validation on the Data tab. In the Excel Data Validation window, on the Settings tab, change the cell references in the Source box. You can either edit them manually or click the Collapse Dialog icon.
