you can encrypt multiple PDFs using a built-in application on your Mac called Automator open up Automator and then create a new document from inside of Automator choose workflow and click Choose from here you need to do a few things the first thing is just search for encrypt drag this to the right hand column and then choose a password you want to use now you need to choose a few more things choose copy finder items and drag it to the right hand column then drag your PDFs into the Automator application in the right-hand column above encrypt PDF documents from here you can see how your Automator workflow will process Finder is going to get your specified finder items which is everything we want to encrypt then its going to create an encrypted PDF document using the password we provided then finder is going to copy the items to the desktop and if you want you can replace existing files but to be safe I leave this unchecked so now when we run this workflow all of these PDFs will become e

How to unlock a PDF to remove password security: Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security. Remove Security: The options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document.
If you have the password and just want to save it as an unlocked . pdf, just open the password protected file (with the password) in Preview, choose Save, and change the name (dont select encrypt). The new . pdf file created should open without a password.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF. Choose File Edit Permissions, then do any of the following: Set a password for opening the PDF: Select Require Password To Open Document. Enter a password, then retype it to verify.
Sign in to a service such as docHub, Apple, or Google to continue to your file. When the thumbnails of the pages appear, drag and drop the thumbnails to reorder in your desired sequence. Click the Save button and then rename the file. Download the PDF or share it via a link or email.
Then, follow these steps: Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac. Choose Tools Encrypt Remove Security. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it. If the document has a permissions password, type the correct password in the Enter Password box and then click OK.
